Xiaomi MI TWS Earbuds - Basic Review and Price
Xiaomi is no stranger to making inexpensive, high-quality goods. The Chinese company does not have one, but at least four alternatives to the Apple Airpods. And they're not just the other want tobe's going-to option.
Xiaomi's Mi True Wireless Earbuds – Basic, also known as Redmi Airdots, is indeed a great choice for those that want to experience true wireless sound.
Here are the;
Positive Aspects
Negative Aspects
The Earbuds themselves come in a pair of Left(L) and Right(R) versions that are clearly labeled. Each has a large multi-function button to pick and end calls, play and pause music, and enable Google Assistant.
The Earbuds also have a built-in microphone, charging points, ear tips that come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes. It's pretty easy to put them in your ear, but you have to put the right earbud in the correct ear. For example, you should put the right earbud in the right ear, otherwise, it will not fit.
You have to position them softly in the ear canal for the earbuds not to sway or slip from your ear. You have to point the earbud microphone directly towards the mouth to have consistent calls, otherwise, the other person would have a hard time listening to you.
Each Earbud has a battery of 43 mAh. You will be able to squeeze out about 3-4 hours of calls and intermittent playback of music combined. You can view the battery level of your earbuds on your smartphone from the Bluetooth icon. When you put them on, the earbuds will also give battery-level voice warnings.
The Mi True Wireless Earbuds is excellent in stereo sound. For those who love to listen to music, a little more bass would be welcome. They otherwise have a decent stereo and bass balance, making them most appropriate for taking calls, listening to the news, podcasts, and audiobooks. Those who are expecting a little more bass might want to look at other alternatives. But if you're not-so-big on bass, then the sound quality of the wireless Mi True earbuds will be perfect for you.
Connectivity is a major problem with Bluetooth connecting gadgets. It's not always a smooth process, even with Bluetooth 5.0. The Xiaomi Mi wireless earbuds are no exception to this.
In most cases, while troubleshooting Bluetooth pairing issues, you will need to know how to turn on/off your earbuds.
When you remove the earbuds from their charging case, they will be switched on automatically. If the earbuds are out of the case and are switched off, simply press and hold the multi-function button for 1 second until the indicator light turns white.
To turn them off, just put them back in their charging case. Alternatively, just press and hold the multi-function button for about 5 seconds until the indicator light turns red.
Now to pair the Mi Wireless Earbuds with your phone, remove both earbuds from the charging case at once and wait for about 3 seconds for them to turn on. You’ll notice the indicator light of the right earbud blink white. On your phone, tablet or PC, go to Settings >> Bluetooth >> Available devices. You should see either “Mi True Wireless EB Basic_R” for the right one or “Mi True Wireless EB Basic_L” for the left one. Tap on either one of them and the other will automatically connect once pairing process is done.
Once the pairing process is successful with your phone, it'll be relatively quicker and automatic the next time you try to pair with them.
The Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic comes in a multi-functional round corned black storage and charging case. The case houses the two right and left wireless earbuds. They turn off automatically when you place the earbuds inside the case. The earbuds will automatically power on and attach to the last computer they have been attached to when you remove them from their case.
There is a 300mAh Lithium Polymer battery in the case that charges the wireless earbuds through the charging pins. The case itself is charged via Micro USB port. It takes about 1.5 hours for the case to be fully charged.
You can see the indicator light flash red when the charging case is not fully charged, and it will be switched off when it is fully charged. The indicator light will display red when charged and white when fully charged for around 1 minute.
